Shooting Stars

Aged 4.5 – 6 years old

The Adventure Begins!

We thrive to provide every child with an amazing experience when they attend a Super Star Sport camp. For the Shooting Stars, we have age-appropriate activity options so that they can enjoy maximum fun whilst keeping safe.

To ensure a smooth transition on your child’s first day of camp, we will send you a across a form to be filled out to allow us to prove the best possible care for them. Tell us if your child is nervous, needs help at lunchtimes, struggles with eating certain foods along with anything else relevant for your child’s care. We aim to provide daily feedback to you upon collection to help support your child throughout their time with us at camp.

We have a visual timetable with pictures and words so that your child can easily see what activities they will be taking part in throughout the day. They will be able to experience many of the activities the older children do, with slight amendments and different equipment to make it easier. Our Shooting Stars groups have their own special base rooms with lots of additional equipment for their creative young minds including a variety of construction and STEM activities.

Don’t worry if your child can’t remember all the fun activities they’ve done each day, our daily timetable will be clearly displayed in the registration area. For those children where consent has been given, we also aim to take photos throughout the day so that you can see your child in action in all the activities they complete at camp!

ALL STARS

Aged 7 – 11 years old

Their Adventure Continues!

Our All Stars group will love all that is on offer at our Super Star Sports camps. Our fantastic team of coaches will support and guide them as they develop skills and independence whilst they’re with us. With increasing confidence, ability and individuality, they will have lots of opportunities to grow.

Once your child is old enough to join our All Stars group, it really is a fantastic age for your child to be attending our camps. They will already have all the enthusiasm of the Shooting Stars group but will now have developed longer attention spans meaning that sessions with this group can be longer and more competitive. We put a strong emphasis and awareness on teamwork and individual development through focusing on the core skills and techniques required to excel within certain activities.

Although at this age, children like to come across cool and relaxed, the fact is they are full of energy and raring to go to try something new and meet new people. Our energetic and enthusiastic team are here to help harness your children’s energy to further develop their confidence and social development.

Whilst we encourage more independence with this age group, we will always ensure that our staff will still deliver and maintain the highest standard of childcare ensuring each individual child’s welfare Is kept a priority with regular reminders of hygiene routines, healthy eating and keeping hydrated.

A Typical Day at HAF Camp

Activities

These camps are great opportunity for your child to discover new sports and learn all the skills and techniques required to excel in them. With sports such as dodgeball, basketball, football, dance and gymnastics we have an activity for everyone!

Throughout the week, we run fun food related workshops that will hopefully educate and encourage children to try new foods and healthy foods. For example, our crazy combo workshop encourages children to try different food combinations to see if different tastes and textures affect how much we like a food.

These workshops are great fun and provide the opportunity for your child to get creative with the freedom to create and design using their own imaginations.

At the end of the week at our Multi-Sport Activity camps we host an award ceremony with prizes given out to all children that have attended.

Food Provision

At Super Star Sport we understand the challenges that many families face over the school holidays both financially and also giving your child a Christmas to remember. Thanks to the campaigning work of Marcus Rashford and the help of the local councils we are now able to run these camps totally for FREE for those children who are eligible to receive benefit related FREE SCHOOL MEALS ensuring that each child receives at LEAST 1 HOT MEAL PER DAY.

Super Star Sport have proudly partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation for all our HAF camps. This charity aims to help beat food hunger in the UK and India and have already served over 450,000 hot meals to children across London alone.

All meals served are healthy, nutritious and tasty which change each day. There are Dairy free and Gluten free options available and if your child has any allergies please let us know when you make your booking.

Nutrition Workshop For The Children & Families

At the end of each day, for the last 30 minutes of the day, we invite parents onto site to take part in a different nutrition workshop each day as a family. These workshops aim to give you more information about your child's diet, quick useful tips for reducing the price of your food shops, substituting unhealthy foods for more healthy ones and finding a bit more about your child's diet and any new foods that could be added to your weekly shop. m

Most importantly we want this to be a fun activity you can take part in with your child. Any spare food that has not been served at lunch will be given to families to take home at the end of the workshop each day. To see some example workshops that are planned please see the list below:

Trustpilot Review

Kids have attended Heathrow Super Star Sport on several occasions and it is the only camp that they absolutely love. The staff are lovely and the kids always have positive things to say about them, in particular Annie, Chris & Chaz. My kids tell me the camp days are very organised and the games are always good fun.

  • What do I need to bring?
Please provide your child/children with a snack, a packed lunch (no nuts please), and plenty of fluids. Of course, it is also useful to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for all weather as we will be both indoors and outdoors throughout the day. Sun cream is useful during the summer camp but please apply it before they attend. If you are attending a HAF camp, one hot meal at lunch will be provided each day. Please ensure your child has a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Will the camp still run if it rains?
Yes, camp will still take place if it rains. We have an indoor space available to use in case of torrential rain fall or poor weather conditions.
  • Can my child be in the same group as their friends?
Absolutely, we want the children to have the best time possible. Prior Covid, children could at times free flow between groups but due to ‘bubbles’ we have to try and limit mixing the children where we can so, please tell us in advance if there is someone your child would like to be grouped with.
  • Is there a first aider on site?
Yes, all Super Star Sport staff members hold an up to date Level 3 Paediatric First Aid certificate to deal with any accidents that may occur at camp.
  • What should I do if I'm running late?
Although we politely ask you do your upmost to be on time, we understand at times things happen and this may not always be possible. If you are going to be more than 5 minutes late, we ask that you please text our contact number found in your camp guide so that we are aware.
  • What happens if my child is sent home?
In the rare and unfortunate event that a child is behaving continuously in a way that is putting both themselves and other children in danger, we have the right to ask them to be collected. A refund will not be provided.
  • Why should my child attend a Super Star Sport camp?
We pride ourselves on running an affordable fun, and safe activity camp throughout the school holidays. Our teamwork with 1000’s of children each week on a daily basis and have fantastic experience of delivering activities with the age groups we work with at camp. Together, we have a combined 25+ experience years of working with children!
